Big Art Peters the man with the big voice has been around a while, previously fronting the Blubbery Hellbellies in the 1980s and also as singer wih 1977 punk stalwarts The Lurkers and bassist for 999. But BIG ART has always loved country, rock n roll, and rockabilly and writes some of the finest songs of those genres youll ever hear.
His new album on Ryhtm Bomb Records called 'Quit Horsing Around' shows off his talents perfectly. Backed on the record by a trio of the best rockin musicians in Europe, namely Tex Morten, Holly Burnette, and Andy Laff, all either ex or current members of huge German psychobilly band Mad Sin, Quit Horsing Around, won't disapoint, and live, either solo or with band, a great nights entertainment is guaranteed.
BIG ART has been compared with Johnny Cash, Sleepy La Beef, and The Cramps.
The Proper Boys
On Saturday night come and see www.theproperboys.co.uk
When vocalist PAUL ELLIOTT (ex Sting) and guitarist MIKE BERSIN (ex Freddie Mercury) were recruiting a new band, they knew that the choice of rhythm section was crucial – “We don’t want just any backline – we need the proper boys”! It wasn’t long before bassist JOHN GLADSTONE , who goes back with Paul to the days of Saratoga Blues Band and later the enigmatic Bad Bob, was on his way up the A1 from Yorkshire.
Fellow ex-Walker lad GREGG STRETTLE was tempted back from a premature musical retirement to complete the line-up on drums.
This is a partnership that was just “meant to be”.
Bass and drums first met when they were two years old. (There’s a photograph to prove it)!
Tug of war teams required to compete against local Young Farmers Clubs, starting at 3pm. £100 of INTERSPORT VOUCHERS from Greggs Sport in Hexham for the winners!!
