We are both delighted and excited to be organising the secound Haydon Beer Festival. Our aim is to have fun while raising funds for various sports and local organisation. As sport can involve injury, we also gladly support the Air Ambulance. There will be events on the day to raise funds for this great organisation.

The original idea for this festival came from the Events Committee of The Haydon Hunt Sports Association who approached Haydon Bridge Football Club to obtain permission to use Low Hall Park football ground in Haydon Bridge for this event. After attending other local Beer Festivals we made contact with Gordon Heal, who organises the Tyneside and Northumberland Beer and Cider Festival which was held again this year at the Students Union at Newcastle University in April. Gordon and his technical team have agreed to provide equipments and technical support to ensure our beers are in first class order. We thank Gordon and all at CAMRA for their support.

As Beer Festival Organisers, we looked to the professionals for help with our first "attempt" and have had massive support and direction from the team at High House Farm Brewery. They have organised a fabulous range of local Beers and Ciders from Brewers in our region. Thanks again, High House.

We hope the village of Haydon Bridge benefits from this, hopefully annual, event; not just the main benefactors but local businesses and the community. It is encouraging that the first three tickets sold ‘on-line’ were ordered from Spain!

Funding for this event comes from The Haydon Hunt Events Committee. We thank them for the confidence and trust they have shown for this new venture.

The organisations who will benefit from our efforts, should we be fortunate to make profit in this, our first year, will initially be the Haydon Hunt, as they provided the funding, Haydon Bridge Football Club, who have kindly provided the venue, The Great North Air Ambulance, Tynedale Hospice, St. Oswalds Hospice and other local good causes.

Some of the people whom you may see on the day are, Ian Scanlan representing the Haydon Hunt Events Committee, Sam Burns, the event Hon. Treasurer, and Robert Stephenson, who is the link between the Football Club and The Haydon Hunt.

We hope that you are able to join all of us, on the bank of the River Tyne in the picturesque village of Haydon Bridge, for what promises to be a fabulous festival.

The 2011 was a fantastic success.

A big thanks to our very generous sponsors, our helpers, High House
